About the set
The Detective Pikachu expansion is a tie-in release for the Pokemon Detective Pikachu movie, and its cards carry movie-themed artwork. The Pokemon Company lists the expansion at 27 cards. Cards 1/18 through 18/18 form the numbered set and were found in 4-card Detective Pikachu booster packs, which in English came inside collection products rather than on their own. The expansion also has promo cards tied to retailer offers and collections, including SM170 and SM194 through SM200.
Notable cards in the numbered set include Charizard 5/18, Greninja 9/18, Detective Pikachu 10/18, Mewtwo 12/18 and Ditto 17/18.

How these packs were released
These packs were never sold at retail. Participating cinemas gave them out with movie tickets when the film opened in May 2019. Supply at each cinema was limited.
The SM190 promo was not limited to this pack. In the UK it also came as a bonus with advance orders of the film on DVD, and in Japan a mirror holofoil version came in the Detective Pikachu Special Jumbo Card Pack: Mewtwo-GX Version. This sealed 2-card pack is one of several ways the card was released.
