Heritage Football rebuilds the current NFL season on a vintage Topps design, so the whole checklist reads like a set pulled out of a drawer decades ago. Rookies get their first cards in that older look, which is most of the draw.

What is in the box

The box's one guaranteed hit is an autograph or a relic. Everything beyond that is chase: short prints, parallels and the insert runs that sit on top of the base set. Autograph sets include Base Chrome Autographs, Classic Renditions, Founding Era Ink, Heritage Rookie Autographs, Real One Autographs with a Red Ink 1 of 1, and Real One Rookie Autographs. Relic lines include Gridiron Collection, Locker Room, Real One and Rookie Lineage, with autographed relic versions and Patch 1 of 1 parallels.

About the set

2026 Topps Heritage Football is the first Heritage Football release since the 2015 season, and it borrows the 1976 Topps Football design for today's players, rookies and legends. The base set runs 400 cards, cards 1 to 400, with 100 rookies and subsets for 2025 Record Breakers, League Leaders and Team Cards. A matching 400 card Base Chrome set runs alongside it, with Refractor, Blue /150, Green /99, Black /76, Gold /50, Orange /25, Red /5 and SuperFractor 1 of 1 parallels. Paper base parallels include Bicentennial /200 and Color of the Year /76.

Base variations are short prints spread across 150 cards: Alternate Jersey, Black and White Image, Flipped Helmet, Image Variation, Legend and No Name. Walter Payton runs through the product, from the Legend variation (148) and the Sweetness insert to five Walter Payton Cut Signature 1 of 1 cards and a 34 card Walter Payton Rookie Redemption series that redeems PSA graded 1976 Topps Walter Payton rookie cards. Inserts include The Expansion, All-Pro Series (24 of the 2025 All-Pros, inspired by the 1976 Wonder Bread set), New Age Performers, Sweetness and Through the Years.

Rookies on the published base checklist include Makai Lemon (18), Drew Allar (27), Jeremiyah Love (133), Cade Klubnik (149), Caleb Downs (187), Fernando Mendoza (272), Ty Simpson (288) and Carnell Tate (305).
