About the release
2025-26 Topps Definitive Basketball is the first Topps Definitive release built for basketball, following the brand in football (2015), baseball (2017) and UEFA soccer (2024-25). It is Topps' ultra-high-end basketball release, built entirely around premium on-card autographs and game-used memorabilia, with a checklist that spans current stars, the 2025 rookie class and retired legends. The box carries the NBA logo and a white and gold Definitive Collection design.
Definitive Nameplates
Making its Topps NBA debut, Definitive Nameplates features complete game-used jersey nameplates from the league's biggest rookies and veterans. Topps describes each card as a single game-worn jersey letter numbered 1/1, and the letters together spell out a player's name, so collectors can chase every letter for one player. The checklist splits the chase into Definitive Nameplate I and Definitive Nameplate II.
Autograph sets to chase
The Framed Autograph Collection mounts on-card autographs in gold display frames across three editions: a 30-card Legends checklist, a 29-card Veterans checklist and a 40-card Rookies checklist, with numbering that runs down to a Gold 1/1. Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Hakeem Olajuwon, Dirk Nowitzki, Larry Bird and John Stockton are among the Legends.
Definitive Moments Collection Autographs are short print, on-card autographs from active stars and retired legends across a 30-card checklist, topping out at a Gold 1/1. Triple Autos put three on-card signatures on a single card numbered to 10, uniting combinations such as Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Definitive Rookie Patch Autographs pair on-card autographs from the 2025-26 rookie class with game-worn jersey patches across a 42-card checklist, numbered from 35 down to a Gold 1/1.
The autograph lineup also includes Authentic Relic Autographs, the 22-card Definable Relic Autographs, the 30-card Defining Images Autographs, Definitive Markers Autographs, Opening Act Rookie Relic Autographs, Dual Rookie Autographs and Noble Ink.
Rookies, stars and parallels
Key rookies to chase: Cooper Flagg, Dylan Harper, Kon Knueppel, Ace Bailey and VJ Edgecombe. Veteran and star autographs include LeBron James, Victor Wembanyama, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic. No player is promised in any box.
Most autograph and memorabilia sets run through Orange, Pink, Black, Red, Blue and Gold parallels. Topps highlights examples such as a Cade Cunningham Authentic Relic Autograph Red numbered to 5, a Victor Wembanyama Definable Relic Autograph Blue numbered to 2, a Cooper Flagg Framed Rookies Autograph Blue numbered to 2, a Jayson Tatum Framed Veterans Autograph Black numbered to 10, a Stephen Curry Definitive Moments Collection Autograph Gold 1/1 and a Magic Johnson Framed Legends Autograph Gold 1/1.
