About the 30th Celebration
30th Celebration released on September 16, 2026, and it was the first Pokemon TCG expansion to release worldwide on the same day. Every card in a 30th Celebration booster pack is foil, including the Basic Energy card, which is designed by YOSHIROTTEN. A pack holds five foil cards plus that foil Basic Energy card, and The Pokemon Company states that one of the 30 different Pikachu rare cards is in each pack.
The set introduces a new rarity, the Futuristic rare, with visuals by the artist YOSHIROTTEN. Mewtwo and Mew are the first Pokemon to appear on one. Greninja and Sylveon appear as brand-new Pokemon ex, and the illustration rares include Lapras, Drifloon, Zorua and Lycanroc. Cards across the set show Pokemon on sunny days and moonlit nights, with Espeon and Umbreon among those featured.
There are 30 different Pikachu rare cards in the set, and 30 classic Pokemon cards make a return with a new foil treatment, including Charizard from Base Set and Pikachu & Zekrom-GX from Sun & Moon Team Up. The returning classic cards are not Standard legal, and the Classic Collection subset is not tournament legal. The rest of the expansion became tournament legal on September 25, 2026.

The Nidorina promo card
Each Elite Trainer Box includes a full-art promo card featuring Nidorina, drawn as an illustration packed with 30 Nidorina. Nidorina happens to be number 0030 in the Pokedex, which is what ties it to the 30th anniversary. The promo is a fixed part of every box, so a case holds ten of them, one per box. The accessories are fixed too: the sleeves, the foil Basic Energy, the dice, the coin and the storage box come in each box regardless of what the packs hold. The cards inside the booster packs are the part that is not fixed, and no box or case is guaranteed any particular card.
