What is in the box
- 2 preconstructed 56-card decks, one led by Zed and one led by Shen
- 2 Vendetta booster packs, 14 cards each
- 2 full-size paper playmats
- 2 foldable paper deckboxes
- A rules and deck-building booklet
Riot lists each 56-card deck as 40 cards, 12 Runes, 1 Champion Legend and 3 Battlefields. This is Riftbound's first two-player preconstructed product, and Riot says every card in the two decks can also be found in regular booster packs.
The Shen deck
Shen's deck is led by the Legend Eye of Twilight and runs six Order Runes and six Calm Runes. Its champion units are Shen, Leader of the Kinkou Order, two copies of Shen, Scourge of Shadows, and Shen, Kinkou, and the main deck also carries Kennen, Keeper of Balance. The three Battlefields are Kinkou Temple, Grove of the God-Willow and Threshold of the Gray, and the deck comes with Recruit and Empowered tokens. Riot describes Shen as a Legend who surprises opponents with tricks, strong units and hidden cards, and who wins defensive fights by holding Battlefields, especially with pairs of units.
The Zed deck
Zed's deck is led by the Legend Master of Shadows and runs six Chaos Runes and six Fury Runes. Its champion units are two copies of Zed, Without a Sound and one Zed, From the Shadows, and the main deck also carries Mel, Defiant Soul and Morgana, Vindictive. The three Battlefields are Zaun Warrens, Shadow Temple and Threshold of the Gray, with Shadow Clone and Empowered tokens. Riot describes Zed as a Legend who likes to stay on offense and conquer Battlefields to win, using Burn and discard to fill the Trash and then Flow to play those cards again.
The rivalry
Shen and Zed were raised as brothers in the Kinkou Order and split apart by betrayal. Shen now leads their old school, and Zed is its greatest opponent. Both have given their lives to the blade, but they play nothing alike.
