About the set

30th Celebration is the Japanese Pokemon Card Game set for the game's 30th anniversary, released on September 16, 2026 as a simultaneous worldwide launch. The set code M6a is printed on every pack. The numbered card list runs from 001 to 165, plus 8 Basic Energy cards, and the main set is numbered out of 103.

The 103-card main set holds 30 Pikachu cards at 017 to 046, each drawn by a different illustrator, starting with the Ken Sugimori Pikachu at 017. It also holds 10 Pokemon ex, among them Mew ex, Mewtwo ex, Greninja ex, Sylveon ex, Gengar ex and two Pikachu ex, and 18 Rare cards of legendary and mythical Pokemon such as Ho-Oh, Lugia, Koraidon and Miraidon. Mew ex has an Ability that lets it use every attack of your Benched Pokemon, as long as it has the Energy, and Greninja ex has an attack that does 30 damage for each damage counter already on one of your opponent's Pokemon, Benched Pokemon included.

Secret rares and the new FUR rarity

Above the main set sit 32 numbered secret rares: 20 Art Rares at 104 to 123, 10 Special Art Rares at 124 to 133, and 2 cards in a brand-new rarity, FUR (Futuristic Rare), at 134 and 135. The two FUR cards are Mewtwo ex and Mew ex, illustrated by the graphic artist YOSHIROTTEN, who also designed the 8 Basic Energy cards. The Special Art Rares include Pikachu ex at 126 and 127, Mewtwo ex at 128, Mew ex at 129, Gengar ex at 131, Greninja ex at 125 and Sylveon ex at 130.

Thirty classic cards

Cards 136 to 165 are 30 classic cards that mark the history of the game, brought back in a special finish. They run from the Pikachu and Charizard of the first Japanese expansion in 1996 to a Magikarp from 2023, with Misty, Shining Celebi, Dark Tyranitar, Rayquaza-EX, Pikachu and Zekrom-GX and Arceus VSTAR along the way. The Pokemon Company notes that these reprints cannot be used in the current Standard regulation, only in formats where the original cards are legal.

What is in each pack

• 6 foil cards, Japanese language
• 1 special 30th anniversary Pikachu card
• 1 Basic Energy card designed by YOSHIROTTEN
• 4 more cards drawn at random from the set

Pick 1, 2 or 3 sealed packs in the options. Every pack carries its own Pikachu card and Basic Energy, so 3 packs means 3 of the special Pikachu cards, but which Pikachu you get is random, and no Art Rare, Special Art Rare or FUR card is promised in any pack.

Japanese pack or English pack

This is the Japanese release, not the English set. An English 30th Celebration pack holds 5 foil cards, 1 foil Basic Energy and a Pokemon TCG Live code card, per The Pokemon Company International. The 6 foil cards in a Japanese pack already count its Pikachu and its Basic Energy, so the card count is the same and the English pack adds a code card. Japanese cards carry Japanese text and are not legal in English-language Play! Pokemon events.
