Joey's theme: Dark Time Wizard
Joey's new cards revolve around Dark Time Wizard, a Quick-Play Spell that celebrates his bravest Duels against Rex, Mai, Bonz, Espa Roba, Mako and Odion. When you activate it you choose one of two effects: a safe one that searches out a card that mentions it, or a risky coin toss that can destroy monsters. Konami names Swiftwind Panther Warrior, Alligator's Dragon Knight, Jinzo - Energy Shocker, Fisherman of Legend, Graceful & Skull Dice, Sleepy Scapegoats, Foolish Graverobber and Reversal Box among the cards that mention it. Monsters destroyed by Dark Time Wizard can lead to a bonus Fusion Summon of Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed, a 3400 ATK Fusion Monster.
More in the set
Aster Phoenix's Destiny HERO cards return reimagined, led by Destiny HERO - Doom Overlord, Destiny HERO - Destro-Dogma and Destiny HERO - Dreadnought Master. An Atlantis theme centers on Atlantis, City of the Sea Dragon, with monsters that become Umi on the field, including Azure Ocean Dragon Lord - Neo-Daedalus Rage and Levia-Dragoon - Daedalus. The Ashtra theme is a Trap-based strategy built on Ashtra monsters, Synchro Monsters and Audhumla, Progenitor of the Frozen Expanse, a world premiere card with an extended art version. Support for existing decks includes Verre, the Maid of Endymion, a partner for Regulus, the Prince of Endymion from Battles of Legend: Glorious Gallery, plus Clown Crew Cappello and Predaplant Daredevil for decks from Blazing Dominion.
Cards to chase
On the published English set list, Akasuna the Battle Ashtra (BETB-EN009) is a Secret Rare, while Red-Eyes Black Dragon Exceed (BETB-EN036), Dark Time Wizard (BETB-EN052), Destiny HERO - Doom Overlord (BETB-EN022) and Audhumla, Progenitor of the Frozen Expanse (BETB-EN081) are Ultra Rares.
