About White Flare
White Flare is one half of a split expansion that released on July 18, 2025 alongside Black Bolt. Between them, the two expansions carry cards featuring the 156 Pokemon first found in the Unova region, the setting of Pokemon Black and Pokemon White. Reshiram takes center stage in White Flare, while Black Bolt spotlights Zekrom. The two halves feature different Pokemon with a single exception: Victini appears in both.
White Flare runs 173 cards, 86 in the main set plus 87 secret rares. Its Pokemon ex are Reshiram ex, Keldeo ex, Whimsicott ex, Jellicent ex, Hydreigon ex and Bouffalant ex, and the first partners Tepig and Oshawott evolve all the way to Emboar and Samurott.
What sets White Flare apart
Black Bolt and White Flare introduced the Black White rare, a new rarity that shows the Pokemon in a monochromatic black or white design. White Flare has two of them: Victini at 172 and Reshiram ex at 173, the final card in the set. Nearly every Pokemon first found in Unova comes back as an illustration rare or a special illustration rare across the two expansions, and White Flare alone carries 70 illustration rares, numbered 87 to 156.
Each expansion also has three parallel foil sets, two of them with a rainbow Poke Ball or Master Ball pattern across the card. Some cards carry a nostalgic foil pattern, and the Basic Energy cards use the original Black and White Series designs.
