2026 Topps Chrome Baseball Sapphire Edition Box

About the set

Sapphire takes the full 300-card 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball base set and prints it on Sapphire Chrome stock, which gives the base cards the deep blue, glassy finish the line is known for, while each numbered parallel carries its own color. There is no standard Chrome base in this box: the base cards are the Sapphire versions. The Sapphire Edition went on sale as a Topps online exclusive on August 26, 2026, five weeks after the regular Chrome release. Print runs are a fraction of the flagship Topps Chrome release. The rookie class on the checklist includes Samuel Basallo at card 7, Kevin McGonigle at 16, Konnor Griffin at 74, Kazuma Okamoto at 78, Jac Caglianone at 131, Jacob Misiorowski at 196, Roman Anthony at 225, Tatsuya Imai at 242 and Munetaka Murakami at 274. No player is promised in any box.

The autograph

Topps lists 1 on-card autograph per box, numbered to 199 or less, and it comes from one of two sets. Topps Chrome Sapphire Autographs is a 34-card rookie set that falls at 1:24 packs, with Roman Anthony, Konnor Griffin, Munetaka Murakami, Kazuma Okamoto, Tatsuya Imai and Jac Caglianone among the signers. Its color run climbs through Green /99 at 1:35 packs, Purple /75 at 1:46, Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10 and Red /5 to the Padparadscha one of one at 1:3,065. The rarer set is Sapphire Selections Autographs at 1:155 packs: 13 signers led by Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Mike Trout, Elly De La Cruz and Nick Kurtz, with base versions numbered to 50 and Orange /25, Black /10, Red /5 and Padparadscha one of one parallels, the last at 1:7,779 packs.

The Sapphire parallel ladder

Every base card is already a Sapphire card, and the numbered parallels step up from there. Quoted as Topps pack odds: Gold Sapphire /50 at 1:7, White Sapphire /30 at 1:12, Orange Sapphire /25 at 1:14, Black Sapphire /10 at 1:35, Red Sapphire /5 at 1:70 and the Padparadscha one of one at 1:344. Base Card Image Variations add 50 cards with alternate images of stars and rookies such as Shohei Ohtani, Aaron Judge, Paul Skenes, Mike Trout, Roman Anthony and Munetaka Murakami. They fall at 1:28 packs and carry their own Gold /50, Orange /25, Black /10, Red /5 and Padparadscha one of one parallels, the Padparadscha at 1:2,064.

Hidden Gems

Hidden Gems is the one insert on the Sapphire checklist: five cards numbered HG-6 to HG-10, with Samuel Basallo, Bobby Witt Jr., Nick Kurtz, Jac Caglianone and Shohei Ohtani set against a gem backdrop. It is not on the regular 2026 Topps Chrome checklist, and the Sapphire odds sheet gives it no rate, so Topps states no number per box.

Sapphire or the regular Chrome hobby box

The regular 2026 Topps Chrome Baseball hobby box is 20 packs of 4 cards, 80 cards with 1 autograph per box, built on standard Chrome base cards and Refractors plus hobby inserts such as Wild Style, Diamond Moments and Shadow Etch. Sapphire trades card count for finish: 32 cards, all on Sapphire stock, 3 Sapphire Refractor parallels per box by the box print, and an on-card autograph numbered to 199 or less. The Sapphire parallels have no rate in any regular Chrome format on the Topps odds sheet, Sapphire Selections Autographs and Hidden Gems are not on the regular checklist, and the regular Chrome inserts are not on the Sapphire checklist.
